About us:
The Alto-Extremo company has been around for several years. In this time we have been working hard to optimize resonance transfer. Based on our experiences we have created different kinds of absorbers. Our wide range of products achievea success rate of over 90%. When used properly, our absorbers create unprecedented sound quality with better three-dimensionality, clearly defined instruments and outstanding dynamics. We strive to make our absorbers as flexible as possible so that they deliver optimal results regardless of how you use them.

What makes our absorbers so special?
There are many producers of high-quality equipment of this kind and some of them produce absorbers that more or less function properly. Unfortunately most of these are too expensive or don’t perform as well as they should. This is what motivated us to develop our own absorbers. Initially, we wanted to create a multi-purpose absorber. This is not feasible however, since every device reacts differently and requires the absorber differently. As a result we have created five different absorbers.

What makes an absorber good?
The first criterion is how well the absorbers transfer and eliminate vibration. The absorber must also function with as many different devices as possible. The base of the device should not be a significant factor, however the absorber should be an aesthetically pleasing part of the device. Alto Extremo absorbers are optimized to produce the most natural sound possible. They are equipped with a dampening or absorbing component, either a damper ring or Delrin. Thanks to the damper ring, Lyd absorbers can also be used for a variety of purposes. Since every device and every basecan react differently however, no all-encompassing statements can be made about a certain kind of absorber. Every absorber goes through a process of trial and error and there will never be one absorber that functions best under all conditions. For this reason you should always test an absorber in its hi-fi chain, as only then can you be sure that it functions properly.

How are Alto-Extremo’s absorbers different from other products?
At first glance our absorbers don’t really look different, but many design details and the optimal manner in which the different components work together make them very unique and effective. In the last few years we have experimented with the most diverse materials and shapes. We tested 11 different pegs, tried several damper rings and analyzed 8 different synthetic pucks until we were finally satisfied. After all this testing our absorbers have acquired a quality that we are proud to be able to pass on to our clients.

Which Alto-Extremo absorbers do I use for which purposes?
The Lyd I absorber works perfectly with all devices, speakers and racks. The Lyd II absorber is ideal for CD players, record players, power amplifiers and full amplifiers as well as speakers. Our Exact MK II absorber works best with CD players and pre amplifiers as well as with full amplifiers and speakers. The Fat-Boy MK II absorber is the specialized product for problematic bases or if you would like to improve the sound quality of your CD player, pre amplifier or thermionic device. NeoFlex absorber is our top end of the range product and can be used to radically improve the sound of any hi-fi device.
